About Evergreen Start

Who We Are

Evergreen Start is a New Hampshire–based nonprofit working to keep child care open, stable, and reliable in rural communities.

Our role is broader than fiscal sponsorship. We provide the support, coordination, and shared infrastructure that child care programs and child care-supportive organizations often cannot carry alone.

That includes:

  • Financial systems and fiscal oversight

  • Compliance and administrative support

  • Operational and sustainability planning

  • Employer and community partnerships

  • Early learning network coordination and shared learning

  • Long-term strategies to strengthen child care across New Hampshire

We don’t replace local leadership. We help make it stronger.

Our focus is simple: helping child care programs survive, stabilize, and expand while remaining rooted in the communities that depend on them.

The Challenge

Child care is essential—but fragile.

Many programs are balancing:

  • Rising operating costs

  • Staffing shortages

  • Increasing administrative demands

Without support, even strong programs can close.

Our Role

We step in to strengthen what’s behind the scenes—so programs can keep serving families.

We provide shared services for child care that reduce burden, improve stability, and support long-term sustainability.

Leadership & Governance
